Hello Clara Barton Families,
We had another exciting week at CBS with the PTO Book Fair and a great turn out for Bingo and Kid Basket Auction Night. Thanks for your support of our school and READING! We also had an AMAZING 2nd grade spring concert. Thank you to all who attended.
The 3rd Grade G&T students have been working very hard to learn about a certain piece of technology that we have today while also exploring the Engineering & Design Process. They researched what we used to use for similar purposes and designed and engineered what the future version may be like. Then, they wrote, recorded, and edited commercials to showcase this work using iMovie and the Green Screen app. Included below are the links to all 6 of their commercials (lengths range from 1-3 minutes each). I must say, I think these are the best I have seen yet! ENJOY!

‼️Testing, Testing... 3, 3, 3‼️
This spring our 3rd graders will participate in their first state assessment, the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA-A) on May 11-15th. On time arrival and attendance during these days is CRITICAL whereas testing will start first thing in the morning, without interruption for lateness. Students that are not in the testing session will have to make up tests at a later date. More information will be coming over the next month.

Mason Shelmet
Mrs. Farina’s Class
I am proud to nominate Mason as Student of the Month. There are many reasons that Mason stands out in the classroom.
Mason is a very conscientious student. He puts his best effort into every assignment. He has demonstrated incredible responsibility by completing all classwork, actively participating in class, and by coming to school prepared to work hard each and every day.
Mason always has a positive attitude. He is kind and respectful to his classmates. For example, if someone needs help, Mason does not hesitate to offer assistance. Also, Mason demonstrates exemplary behavior. He maintains self control, listens when others speak, uses polite language, and consistently follows directions. He is an outstanding role model for his peers.
As you can see, Mason is very deserving to be awarded the honor of being Student of the Month!
Arianna Johnson
Ms. Daly’s Class
Congratulations to Arianna Johnson on being nominated for Student of the Month for third grade in January. Arianna is a hard worker and a model student. Anytime you see her she is smiling. Her positive attitude, inclusive nature, and her caring ways make her someone that I aspire to be. She never lets anything get her down and she is always looking for ways to help others rise. Arianna contributes to the positive culture of our school and makes every day brighter at CBS.
Mr. Mitchell is always pitching in to help in any way. He approaches every challenge with an open mind and a can-do attitude. He takes great pride in our school community and has an unwavering work ethic, often going above and beyond to ensure an engaging learning environment for all our students. Keep shining, Mr. Mitchell.
