Supplies for Virtual Field Day

VIRTUAL FIELD DAY TO BE HELD MONDAY, JUNE 1st

This coming Monday, June 1st is Virtual Field Day! On Monday morning, a link to the Virtual Field Day page will be included on the Elementary and Middle School Learning Portals. For students in grades 3-8, virtual field day will serve as the instructional program provided for the day and, in addition to enjoying the field day activities, students in these grades are encouraged to use the day to catch up on any outstanding assignments and to check in with their teachers. Preschool students will have their usual day of activities provided but are also welcome to partake in as many field day opportunities as they like. In order to add to the spirit of the day, we encourage students to wear the colors designated below. A flipgrid site will be included so that students can share videos of themselves and enjoy seeing their friends as they participate. A listing of Supplies for Virtual Field Day is linked as well and may help you to prepare. Looking forward to a fun-filled day!

jhs students celebrated for community service

Each year, JHS nominates two students who have dedicated themselves to community service for the Lakeland Hills YMCA Bronie Parkins Award. This year, we were proud to nominate Adison Shollenberger and Cody Darling for this recognition as both students have worked hard to serve their communities while taking on leadership roles. Recently, Adison Shollenberger was chosen by the YMCA as the female recipient in Morris County! Thank you to both Cody and Adison for being such wonderful representatives of JHS and Congratulations to Adison for earning this distinction! This is the first time a John Hill Student has been chosen for this award!

Throughout the month of May, we have been offering mental health resources and exercises for students and families. As Mental Health Month concludes, we want to remind everyone that resources remain available via the counseling pages on the respective Elementary and Middle School Learning Portals as well as through the Boonton Public Schools Mindfulness Initiative. In addition, the Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties offer a variety of support services for families including virtual parent support group offerings.
