As we conclude this abbreviated week and enter into Presidents' Day Weekend, it is a pleasure provide a few updates with you including a celebration of our Governor's Educators of the Year, a potential academic calendar change, a reminder about Boonton High School's upcoming performance of Footloose, an athletics update, and a link to our Virtual Backpack. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GOVERNOR'S EDUCATORS OF THE YEAR!

Monday's Board of Education meeting provided an opportunity to celebrate the district's Governor's Educators of the Year. We are extremely fortunate to have a staff of individuals who show tremendous dedication to our students and community, and Monday's honorees are well deserving representatives of our district's team of difference makers. Not only are their direct impacts with students tremendous, but the leadership roles that they embrace within our school buildings and community are central to achieving the district's objectives of enriching lives and empowering tomorrow's leaders. Congratulations to all of our honorees and thank you for being such extraordinary difference makers!

CALENDAR UPDATE

Each year, the academic calendar includes four days that are built in as inclement weather days due to anticipated emergency closings. If we do not have four emergency closings, days are designated as dates in which school will not be in session and, due to our very mild winter thus far, we have begun identifying potential days that school will not be in session. The first of those days is March 17.

If we do not have any snow days or emergency closings prior to March 17, our schools will be closed on that date.

March 17 was selected because March 20 is already a full day professional development day for our staff in which students are not in session. Should we reach March 17 with no snow days, we understand that an extended four day weekend would be a welcome break and opportunity to recharge at the start of spring. If, however, we do have an emergency closing prior to that date, then March 17 wil be a regular school day as is currently scheduled.

BOONTON HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS "FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL"

Enthusiasm continues to build for Boonton High School Drama Club's presentation of Footloose the Musical. Performance dates are set for:

March 3rd @ 7pm
March 4th @ 7 pm
March 5th @ 2 pm

All performances will take place in the Boonton High School Auditorium.

Tickets are $13 for reserved seats, $10 for general admission, and $7 for students.
