FCCLA Logo, per National FCCLA's website (fcclainc.org):
It is FCCLA’s national policy that the organization’s name and logo marks may be used only in connection with programs and projects directly related to the mission and purposes of FCCLA. Chapters and state associations have permission to use the FCCLA name, trademarks, and logos to publicize and promote FCCLA through programs, events, media, and other marketing resources. Use of FCCLA trademarks, logos, name, or acronym is restricted on promotional items including apparel, awards, and merchandise without prior approval from National FCCLA.
Cardinal Logo:
Boone Central Public Schools owns the rights to Boone Central cardinal logo. The cardinal logo may be used for Boone Central-affiliated purposes.
IDENTIFY CONCERNS
Our concerns include not having a platform available for our FCCLA Chapter. This means many of our school’s students and staff, as well as community members, may be uninformed about what FCCLA really is, what we do as a chapter, and our chapter’s success.
SET A GOAL
We want to inform the community around us about what we are up to as an FCCLA Chapter. With a website, we can also give the students of our school a closer look at FCCLA and encourage them to join our chapter. This way we can increase our membership numbers and keep our chapter growing with new ideas and people. In addition, we will be able to display all of FCCLA’s accomplishments.
FORM A PLAN (WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, HOW)
Who: Tessa Hamling and Serena Henry
What: Develop a website for the community and school about FCCLA and the Boone Central chapter.
Where: Boone Central High School
When: October 2020 - February 2021
Why: To inform people about the chapter activities and successes
How: Work with our advisor and chapter to know what to share with the school and community
ACT
Between October 2020 and February 2021, we developed a Google Site that would host our chapter’s website. We included important information about our chapter on the website, including officers, our chapter program of work, and a history of awards. We published the website in late January 2021.
FOLLOW UP
There were many times we had to collaborate with our chapter adviser and chapter officer team. As chapter members, there was much information we had to retrieve from the adviser and officer team, such as officer roles and responsibilities. During this project, we learned how to build an attractive website, how to manage our time, and how to schedule meetings with multiple individuals. Additionally, we learned a lot about FCCLA and family and consumer sciences. There were many state and national programs that we were not aware of that we are excited to explore more in the next school year.
