Save Your Seat For Kindergarten

We are excited to help the Class of 2039 soar into the future. Children must be five (5) years old on or before August 1st, 2026 to enter Kindergarten this August. The Save Your Seat For Kindergarten Event will be April 20th, 2026 and is the first step for students to sign up to attend a Boone County Schools Kindergarten program. All Boone County Elementary Schools will host an in-person Save Your Seat For Kindergarten from 4:15-6:30pm. All Kindergarten students are encouraged to attend at the school where they are zoned based on residential address. The link for the Save Your Seat For Kindergarten will not be available until April 20th, 2026.

Registration

Our Online Registration process launches July 1st, 2025! This process will be easier than ever and all students must be registered before they can enroll in Boone County Schools. The Online Registration will allow parents to easily register multiple students without having to repeat the entire process for each child.

How Do I know Which School My Child Will Attend?

RETURNING FAMILIES OR MOVING TO ANOTHER SCHOOL WITHIN THE BOONE COUNTY DISTRICT

If one or more of your children currently attends a Boone County School, you must use your portal account to register. Please click the icon to the left to enroll new student(s) or update your child's information. You can also use the Annual Update to update any information that will change permanently throughout the year (i.e. address, phone number, living situation, etc.)

Once you have logged on, please click More > Online Registration > Start

If you need assistance, or if you do not have Internet access, please contact the Registrar at the school where your student will attend to receive further instruction.

Step 1: Register Online

NEW FAMILIES TO THE DISTRICT (25-26 ONLY)

Please click the icon to complete the registration online if none of your children currently attend a Boone County School. The online system will walk you through the process .

If you need assistance, or if you do not have Internet access, please contact the Registrar at the school where your student will attend to receive further instruction.

Step 2: Provide Proof of Identity and Address

After you register online, call your school's registrar for an appointment to finalize the registration process. BCS enrolls students at the school where they are zoned based on residential address.

Records Needed for New Student Registration

1. Birth certificate or other reliable proof of identity. Other reliable proofs include but are not limited to:

a. The student's valid Passport or other federal government identification

b. The student's valid Kentucky Driver's License or Permit (if age 16 or older)

c. A Custody Decree or Court Order of Dissolution of Marriage of the student's parents identifying the child by name and date of birth

d. Prior school records (other than BCS) identifying the child by name and date of birth

2. One of the following, although two proofs may be required if necessary*

a. Utility bill

i. The bill must be for a service that is tied to the property. For example, a cell phone bill will not work, but a cable, electric, and water bill will.

b. Deed/Lease

i. Authentic home builder contract with approved district transfer, lease, closing statement, or other home dwelling document

3. Recent preventive health care exam**

4. Up-to-date Kentucky immunization certificate

a. Per 702 KAR 001:160 and Board Policy 09.211 a current Kentucky immunization certificate must be on file for each student.

5. Proof of a dental and eye examination**

6. Court documents pertaining to the student, if applicable

* A student that is coming from an out-of-district address must go through the application process from the School Choice & Transition Coordinator before being allowed to enroll in Boone County Schools.

** A student may be registered without these documents and enrolled. However, a student will have 30 days after school starts to produce these documents.
