Welcome to the Collins Elementary Library
where we....
The mission of the Collins Elementary library is to provide equitable access to diverse resources, technology, and learning experiences that inspire a love of reading, support academic growth, and empower all students to become curious, confident, and informed learners. Through an inclusive environment that honors students' languages, cultures, and experiences, the library fosters literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Collins Elementary library envisions a community where every student sees themselves reflected in books and learning resources, develops the skills to navigate an ever-changing world, and grows into a lifelong reader, thinker, and creator. The library will serve as a welcoming environment where curiosity is celebrated, diversity is valued, and all learners have the opportunity to succeed
All about Mrs. Brann.
Hello! I just finished my first year as the Librarian Media Specialist at Collins Elementary. Before becoming the librarian, I taught a wide range of grades for 18 years at Collins Elementary. Before moving to teach at Collins in 2008, I taught for three years in Lexington, KY, where I graduated from the University of Kentucky. (Go Wildcats!)
I currently have a degree in Elementary Education, a master's degree in Teacher as a Leader, National Board Certification for Middle Childhood Generalist, and I'm currently working on a second master's degree in Library Media Specialist.
When I'm not learning, you can find me spending time with my friends and family (which includes my husband, parents, in-laws, stepdaughter, brothers, nieces, and nephews). I also love reading, so you will often find me somewhere with a book in hand, escaping to a world different than my own.
