Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide students with rich learning experiences that promote a healthy lifestyle, creative initiative, social and emotional well-being and a passion for learning.
"Engagement is more about what you can do for your students..."Empowerment" is about helping students figure out what they can do for themselves."

Program Overview

Club 21c, formerly known as 21st Century, is going to work much differently this year. The purpose of this program is to provide our students with enrichment and academic support. With that in mind we have designed a program focused on getting our students excited and involved! This program no longer requires or allows for students to be committed to being at school from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm everyday.

In the mornings and afternoons there will be a variety of academic and enrichment activities happening simultaneously. For enrichment activities students will be asked to apply for clubs they are interested in attending. Students needing academic support will be invited based on grades, assessment scores, classroom performance, and teacher recommendation.

As a program coordinators we recommend that you have a plan in place for child care before and after school hours as this program does not allow for students to attend on a consistent basis. Clubs and tutoring schedules will change quarterly based on students needs and interests.

quick facts

  • Anyone can apply for an enrichment club. Submitting and application does NOT guarantee you a spot.
  • Most clubs, with the exception of the Choir Musical and Running Club, will have a 10-15 student cap
  • Enrichment Clubs run before school at 7:30 AM and after school Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4-5 and 5-6.
  • Academic tutoring is also a big part of Club 21c, students are invited to tutoring on an as needed basis.
  • No student will be permitted to attend more than two enrichment clubs in the same quarter
  • There is a $20 club fee per quarter, fees help sustain our program and purchase needed materials
  • Any student staying after school for tutoring or enrichment will be provided a snack.
  • If you qualify for financial assistance that assistance also applies to your club fee, just talk to a coordinator: Stacey Buus (stacey.buus@boone.kyschools.us) Heather Smith (heather.smith@boone.kyschoolsus)
