The easiest place to find information for the Senior Class of 2026
We know you're eager to finalize your classes, so here's a quick guide on schedule adjustments:
Core Courses (Math, Science, Social Studies, English)
Back in February, we worked hard to set your core courses in stone, and these courses are final. We can only make changes if:
You've already passed the course.
You weren't scheduled for a course you need to graduate
Please check your transcripts to ensure you are on track with graduation requirements
You don't have the prerequisite for the course.
Please understand that we can't change teachers, class periods, lunch periods, or remove you from AP courses.
Elective Courses
If you'd like to request an elective change, please fill out the form below. To help us get to your request as quickly as possible, please avoid emailing or calling the office, as this will only cause delays.
Electives are very limited this year, so while we'll try to make adjustments, options might be scarce. We'll process all requests in the order they're received—To ensure we can help you as fast as possible, it's best to use the form rather than calling or emailing, as those methods will actually slow things down. The last day to request a schedule change is Friday, August 29.

No Cell Phones, Air pods, etc.
HB 208 requires school districts in Kentucky to establish a policy that, at a minimum, prohibits the use of cell phones during instructional time unless authorized by the teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Students may not use personal devices (cell phone, air pods, earbuds, headphones, etc.). during the school day except during lunch. Devices must be powered off and secured in their locker or left at home. If a student urgently needs to contact a parent/guardian, they may request to use a school phone.

Senior Portraits--Class of 2026
We met with the junior class on Thursday, May 1st to provide them information on their senior portrait requirements for our yearbook. Prestige is the company that provides our seniors with a formal picture and provides the drape tux and gown. The earlier our juniors schedule their pictures, the more you save on the sitting fee. The deadline for our seniors is November 13th, 2025.

Prestige has a new location if you have been prior with a previous Cooper graduate.

New Communication Tool
Senate Bill 181 was recently signed into law in Kentucky and becomes effective Friday, June 27. This legislation set new requirements for how school employees and volunteers communicate electronically with students. To be in compliance, our district has adopted a new platform setup through the Boone County Schools app for staff/student communication. The intent is to promote transparency, safeguard students and ensure all communication is traceable and accountable. In addition to this resource, school email, Canvas are other viable ways to communicate. School staff are not permitted to communicate with students through texting, social media platforms and can only use district-approved platforms. Our weekly newsletter will change over to this new district wide platform beginning next month, July 2025.
See the message below that was sent out from our district office recently:
Say hello to classroom communication in the Boone County Schools app. Now, it’s easier than ever to stay up-to-date with your district, schools, and your student’s classes and activities.
On June 17 families received instructions via text from short code 20819 or an email from accounts@edurooms.com to access a new section within the district app. Ensure your contact information is updated with us so you don’t miss the invite!

Student Drivers
For students who are interested in driving to school in the 2025-2026 school year, click here to open our updated parking policy and requirements.
Please note that students must have up-to-date community service hours: sophomores 5hrs; juniors 10hrs; and seniors 15hrs.
A driver's license is required to purchase a parking permit. In addition, attendance, community service hours and school fees/lunch charges are checked for eligibility. If you meet the requirements, please fill out the areas on the parking form and email this to (martha.smith@boone.kyschools.us) no later than Friday, August 1st @ 12 NOON in order for the $15 parking permit fee to be added for online payment when paying with school fees. Please also email a picture (jpg format) of your student’s driver’s license to expedite the process when your student picks up their parking permit. Information regarding parking permit pick-up will be provided closer to the start of school.
Parking across the street on Kroth Lane, Alson Place and Hawk's Landing subdivisions are strictly prohibited. A county ordinance restricts on-street parking from 8:00-3:00 p.m. during school days.
There are designated parking areas on campus for students who are seniors, juniors, and sophomores.
For students who are interested in driving to school, click here to open our parking policy and requirements.
A driver's license is required to purchase a parking permit, so please have your driver’s license with the orange sticker, with you when purchasing a pass. If you meet the requirements, please fill out the areas on the parking form, save the form under your name and email to Email Martha Smith.
Boone County Board of Education sets the parking pass at $15/year. Payment can be made with cash or check. If the student does not have cash or a check, but does have a credit card, payment may be made through either Parent or Student Portal.
There are plenty of parking spots for students to purchase throughout the school year as they get their license.
