SBDM Elections- 2018/19

Wednesday, September 12, 6-8pm, Jones MS will hold an election to fill the vacant minority parent representative seat for the school’s Site Based Decision Making Council (SBDM).

According to KRS 160.345(1)(a), Schools with 8 percent or more student minority population shall have at

least one minority representative on the school council. For the purposes of SBDM, minority is

defined as “American Indian; Alaskan native; African-American; Hispanic, including persons of

Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Central- or South-American origins; Pacific Islander; or

other ethnic group underrepresented in the school” [KRS 160.345(1)(a)].

To be considered for the Jones MS SBDM Council parent representative, you will need to complete a nomination form. The nomination form can be found on the Jones website or stop by the front office between the hours of 7:30am- 3pm to pick up a paper form. All nominations will need to be collected by Monday, September 10, 4:00pm.
