I am so excited to have you as part of our officer team! Below you will find resources that will be helpful as you help guide our chapter towards new horizons this year!
All FCCLA officers are expected to:
-Be a dues paying member
-Be cooperative and dependable
-Understand and communicate the mission and purposes of FCCLA
-Be respectful and open-minded
-Attend and participate in all chapter meetings
-Be organized and on time
-Follow through with the responsibilities of the elected office
-Represent the chapter in a responsible and professional manner
-Be in good academic and behavior standing at school
All officers should complete a STAR Event and are encouraged to compete in the state FCCLA conference in March.
President:
-Develop an agenda for each meeting
-Preside over chapter meetings using Robert’s Rules of Order (Parliamentary Procedure)
-Keep meetings lively and organized
-Create committees as needed
-Work cooperatively with other officers, members and committees chairs and ensure responsibilities are followed through
-Know the duties of all officers and committees and delegate accordingly
-Start meetings on time
-Attend all chapter meetings and the state conference in March
-Keep up-to-date on local, state, and national updates (www.fcclainc.org)
First Vice President:
-Assume president’s responsibilities in president’s absence
-Assist president as needed
-Help keep meetings organized
-Work with other VPs and committees to carry out projects, responsibilities
-Ensure that all chapter members are informed of all events and meetings.
Secretary/Vice President of Public Relations:
-Keep accurate meeting minutes
-Email meeting minutes to the president and adviser following each meeting
-Keep attendance records
-Remind officers of unfinished business
-Work with VP of Public Relations
-Count and records chapter votes
-Gather information for Press Releases
-Write Press Releases and submit them in a timely manner (with adviser’s approval)
-Take photos at events
-Record information of events
-Keep FCCLA wall up-to-date
-Send adviser items to post on the school website
-Make announcements
-Compile yearly activities, photos, and program of work in a end of the year portfolio
First Vice President of PR will have the first choice of competing in the Chapter in Review STAR event at the state meeting in March
Treasurer/Vice President of Fundraising:
-Keep accurate financial records
-Prepare a treasurer’s report for each business meeting
-Assist in collecting dues an any other transactions
-Write receipts
-Create and manage donation letters
-Network with business and community leaders
Vice President of Membership/Vice President of Community Service:
-Assist the treasurer in collecting chapter dues
-Keep an updated spreadsheet of members including contact information/email addresses
-Work with chapter officers to develop membership campaign
-Recruit new members
-Distribute marketing materials, membership cards, and t-shirts to dues paying members
-Work with chapter adviser to complete membership forms
-Encourage members to apply for membership awards and complete appropriate chapter award applications
-Meet local, state and national membership deadlines
-Promote chapter community service projects
-Coordinate committee chairs of varies community service projects
-Organize and supervise community service-related projects
-Contact other organizations who might assist the organization in achieving our project goals
-Become familiar with state and national FCCLA Outreach projects (www.fcclainc.org)
Vice President of Community Service will have the first choice of competing in the Chapter Service Project event at the state meeting in March
Our officer duties and expectations are as listed above. We are looking for members who are engaged, dependable, and will help build up other students in FCCLA. We will vote as a chapter to select our officer team and the officer team will then meet with our advisor to assign offices to each member of the team.

You can expect from your advisor:
-Working with officers to plan chapter meeting agendas
-Reports/updates during chapter meetings as needed
-Approving flyers/social media
-Registering members for conferences
-Assisting with logistics of specific service projects, fundraisers, STAR Events
