Hi! My name is Megan Hund (Ms. Megan to the kids) and I am the school counselor at Bonsall Elementary. I love being a Bonsall Bear! My passion is helping students become the best versions of themselves in order to succeed academically, socially & emotionally.

What's Happening in the Counseling Room This Year?:
Lunch Bunch!~starts Tuesday 9/1/26~
This is a group that meets weekly for students who may need a break from outdoor recess and would benefit from a quiet place to do fun activities like board games, crafts, etc. While this is held in the counseling room it is not counseling based. Teachers will choose students to go weekly and give them a pass to come to the counseling room after they have finished their lunch. Here is the schedule for the 2026-2027 school year:
TK & Kinder - Tuesdays 1st & 2nd - Wednesdays3rd-5th - Fridays
If parents do not want their children to have the option to participate they can sign the following form:Lunch Bunch Permission Form

Some examples of things we might work on are: Social Skills, Friendships, Anxiety and Self-Esteem. If you think your student might benefit from participating in a small group please email me at: megan.hund@bonsallusd.com

At BES we have two military groups: one for TK-2 and one for 3rd-5th. Students can join if they have a family member who is currently on active duty. I want to support our incredible military families as much as possible by offering these special groups where your kids can talk about anything from deployment to sharing their pride for their brave family members while playing games, enjoying fun activities and making new friends! The Military group will meet twice a month on Mondays for 20-30 minutes in the counseling room. If you are interested please fill out the following form:Military Group Interest Form

Love on a Leash!~starts Friday 9/4/26~
As part of our ongoing efforts to support the emotional well-being of our students and staff, Bonsall Elementary School is happy to continue partnering with Love on a Leash © (LOAL) to bring therapy dogs onto our campus. These specially trained dogs, along with their certified handlers, provide comfort, affection, and support in schools, hospitals, retirement homes, and other settings where individuals are experiencing stress or grief. The dogs visit the counseling room the first Friday of every month. If you have a student that would benefit from a visit with the dogs, please let your teacher know as space is limited each month!
