Develop an Asthma Action Plan with the help of your child's doctor. This form will include information such as asthma medications, asthma triggers, early symptoms of flare-up, and what to do if your child has a flare-up.
During COVID -19 please follow your Asthma Action Plan.
Continue your current medications, including any inhalers with steroids in them.
Don’t stop any medications or change your asthma treatment plan without talking to your healthcare provider.
Discuss any concerns about your treatment with your healthcare provider.
Avoid your known asthma triggers
Take off cap off the inhaler and make sure the mouthpiece and spray hole are clean.
Shake the inhaler 10-15 times.
Without the inhaler take a breath and..
...breath out all the way.
Hold the inhaler upright.
Put the inhaler in your mouth, above your tongue, and between your teeth. Seal your lips around the inhaler.
Begin to breath in slowly. Press down on the inhaler one time and keep breathing in.
Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds.
Open your mouth...
.. and breath out slowly.
