Band Supplies

Instruments: If you are looking to buy your own instrument, please ask Mrs. Raymond about brands of instruments! Not all instruments are created equal and unfortunately a poor quality instrument will make it much harder and frustrating for your student. Listed below are reputable brands that will last your student through high school and beyond!

• • Flute: Yamaha, Gemeinhardt, Armstrong

  • Clarinet: Yamaha, Vito, Buffet, Selmer

  • Alto Saxophone: Yamaha, Vito, Selmer

  • Trumpet/Trombone/Euphonium: Yamaha, Bach, Conn, Holton

  • Percussion*: Yamaha, Pearl, Ludwig

*Percussionists need a bell kit that includes a drum pad. I highly recommend a bell kit that has an umbrella style stand and a carrying case with wheels. The umbrella style stand is much easier for students to put together and the wheels make bringing it back and forth between home and school more convenient for students. 

Other Supplies: Every instrument needs a few other supplies to keep them working and in good condition. Mrs. Raymond can supply one or two reeds per student, but can not continue throughout the year.

• Box of Reeds (Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax)

  • Clarinet: Rico , Strength 2.5 (double check strength!), Swabs, Cork Grease, Ligature

  • Alto Sax: Rico, Strength 2.5 (double check strength!), Swabs, Cork Grease, Ligature

  • Bass Clarinet: Rico, Strength 2.5(double check strength!), Ligature

  • Tenor Sax: Rico, Strength 2.5(double check strength!), Ligature

  • Bari Sax: Rico, Strength 2.5(double check strength!)

  • Other brands of reeds for any type of clarinet or saxophone that are great include: Rico Royal or Vandoren (Blue Box).

• Trumpet & Euphonium: Blue Juice valve oil and slide grease

• Horn: Blue Juice valve oil, slide grease, Monster rotor oil

• Trombone: slide lubricant and slide grease​

• Flute: Flute Swab

• Bassoon Reeds Strength Medium Soft

• Oboe Reeds Strength Medium Soft
