About Me

I was born and raised in Michigan.  I attended Michigan State University for my undergraduate coursework in Education and later attended Eastern Michigan University where I earned my Masters Degree in Middle School Curriculum.

I started my teaching career in Michigan where I taught Junior High for 8 years.  My husband and I then moved to the Bay Area and I taught 7th and 8th Grade Math, in Palo Alto, for two years.  My husband was a researcher at Stanford University.  I fondly refer to this period in my life as "BC"- Before Children.  My husband and I fell in love with California and always dreamed of moving back some day. Our next adventure took us to Nashville, TN where I taught middle school math for 18 years and we raised our daughter, Ephie, and our son, William.  Ephie is currently 19 and attends Berkeley and William is 15 and is attending high school in Placerville. Our daughter's acceptence to Berkeley, was the ticket we had been looking for to return to the state of California, that we fell in love with years ago.

In my free time you can find me reading books, enjoying wildlife, making crafts, spending time with my family and my dog, Prairie, thrifting, and selling things on eBay.

I enjoy building relationships with my students, their families, co-workers and the community.  Golden Sierra has been an amazing place to work. I love what I do.
