"It has truly been a pleasure working with Dr. Swanson. The environment of our VIP group is one of the most fun experiences of my college career. I love how the focus is on learning and when I first joined, the line of “what interests you?” was heard dozens of times. It’s amazing because you know you are going to get a good discussion when he comes over to you or your group in meetings. I think it is really useful to consistently go through that process of talking about a problem and trying to explore it from as many angles as possible. It helps a lot that he has an aura of excitement when working with us. Not only that, but as I am looking forward to my next steps after undergrad, I asked if he would be willing to share his advice and experiences. He went out of his way to spend half an hour talking with me and I felt that he really meant what he said. Overall, he is a genuinely happy person and I am glad that I have the opportunity to work with him."
