Dr. Carolina Viera is the Project Manager of Project SCIENTIA.
She joined Boise State University in Fall 2016 and is currently an Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of World Languages. Her expertise is in discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, Spanish as a heritage language and Spanish in the United States. She received her Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of California in Davis and her M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Viera was born in Uruguay. In Uruguay, she completed her B.A in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Foreign Language Teaching.

Jada Alcantara is a junior at Boise State University, majoring in Health Studies and Spanish. She strives to help others and is passionate about combining her love for health care and Spanish in her daily life. Jada works at Seattle Children’s Hospital during her school vacation breaks and her job has taught her a lot about health care and working with different communities. After graduation, she wants to become a Physician's Assistant.
Hamsi Adan is a freshman at Boise State University and one of her biggest dreams is to be a lawyer. Currently she is majoring in Criminal Justices, Counting and Spanish Interpretation. Hamsi hopes to successfully graduate from collage and be able to help all immigrants, but mainly Spanish-speakers.
Gianella Condor is an undergraduate student at Boise State University (BSU) and pursuing a Material Science and engineer career. She is working at BSU Magnetic Materials lab and studying magnetic shape-memory alloys such as Ni-Mn-Ga. Growing up in Peru she dreamt of one day to go to space and share her experience with her community. She is very excited to be part of the SCIENTIA project because she understands the importance of propagate science to the Spanish-speaking public.
Julián Arreguin Vega is a senior at Boise State University, majoring in Political Science with an emphasis on public policy and American government. He plans to get his Ph.D. in Latin American studies and utilize it to become a professor. He looks to become a professor so he can do research and educate students on the problems of global capitalism and imperialism with a focus on Latin America.
