September07 Meeting Notes

Mandatory meeting tonight

Here is a suggested packing list for the field trip. More information to follow.

• food for four nights / four breakfasts / three lunches (there will be opportunity to resupply after two nights so bring money)

• personal water bottles

• pots and pans / dishes and mugs

• personal tent

• warm sleeping bag (note: I'm bring two sleeping bags!)

• hiking boots or good tennis shoes and (optional) sandals

• hiking poles (optional)

• sleeping pad

• wind layer / warm layer / long underwear / gloves / hat (wool or similar)

• sun protection (baseball hat and sunscreen)

• first aid kit (never hurts to have more than one)

• phone and charging mechanism (expectation is that each car will have a functional phone)

• course materials you are responsible for (both in electronic form and/or paper)

• notebook (required)

• hand lens, compass, rock hammer (optional)

• Gaia gps app installed on your device with membership ($17) (gaiagps.com)

• camping chair

• Print out 2 copies of the paper you are in charge of to share

• Extra masks

• Cleaning wipes

• Toiletries and medication / bug spray
