GenCyber Student Camps :: Overview
The 2022 GenCyber Student Camp at Boise State University is a free, in person, full-day, one-week program that introduces high school students in Boise and nearby to cybersecurity first principles and the rapidly developing field of cybersecurity. Using hands-on activities, students will engage with applied cryptography, Raspberry Pi set up and security, threats, risks, network traffic analysis, penetrating testing, and virtualization practices.
GenCyber Student Camps :: Objectives
The GenCyber Student Camp at Boise State University is designed for high school students (entering grades 9-12 in fall 2022) to:
▣ Introduce and cement knowledge of cybersecurity first principles
▣ Increase the curiosity of the participants in the field of cybersecurity
▣ Encourage participants to seek further education in cybersecurity
▣ Motivate participants to seek a career in cybersecurity

GenCyber Student Camps :: Modules
We have designed this camp to be team-based, interactive, and game-based. The curriculum of each camp is organized into four modules we will address in four 90-minute sessions over the course of each day. The modules are:
▣ Cybersecurity First Principles, Ethics, and Online Safety
▣ Raspberry Pi- based Information Security & Privacy Awareness
▣ Raspberry Pi- based Network Security Awareness
▣ Raspberry Pi- based Web Security and Penetration Test Awareness

Eligibility & How to Apply
Applicants must be high school students who reside in the U.S. and attend a U.S. school (or home
school).
Applications will be reviewed and assessed on a first come, first serve basis, until all positions are fulfilled. Due to the limited number of positions, you are encouraged to apply ASAP.
