His focus is on physical based seasonal snow modeling development and remote sensing for operational water forecasting. He received his Ph.D. (2023) and master's (2019) degree in Geography from the University of Utah after working for over a decade in the tech industry as a software developer. Joe has an affiliation with the University of Washington eScience Institute, where he helps build science communities through the HackWeek program.
