Association of Classified Employees
The Association of Classified Employees (ACE) at Boise State University was established in 1981 and comprises more than 500 members. All classified employees automatically become members of ACE and can benefit from its services at no cost to themselves. ACE is not a traditional union but rather an advocacy group that represents the interests of classified employees at the university. Classified employees are members of the Association of Classified Employees if the following criteria are met: classified employees working at Boise State University who are earning an hourly wage, are permanent (not temporary or seasonal), and are benefit-eligible.
Share your questions, concerns, compliments, feedback, suggestions, and any ideas with ACE. Just click the following button to share with your ACE representatives what is on your mind. We look forward to hearing from you!
ACE newsletters inform constituents of the work of their ACE Senate, including past, current, and upcoming initiatives. They also provide classified employees with ways to become involved as ACE members. All ACE members should be automatically receiving newsletters, but those who are not can reach out to acemailbox@boisestate.edu to ask to be added to the mailing list.
By becoming a part of the ACE Senate or attending an ACE meeting, you can make your voice heard and:
Support classified employees at Boise State University
Impact classified employee work-life conditions and personnel decisions
Actively participate in governing, policy, and decision-making university committees and boards
Take advantage of personal development and wellness opportunities
Volunteer at events and fundraising efforts
Help fellow classified employees learn about the benefits of ACE membership
Serving on ACE's Senate or Officer Board is a wonderful opportunity to get involved on campus! ACE elections are held annually (as warranted) for open Senator, Ambassador, or Executive positions. Nomination forms are released in March and new electees are sworn in at the beginning of the fiscal year. Senators are either self-nominated or are nominated anonymously by peers.
ACE Executive Officers serve in specific roles and lead ACE: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Chief Advocate.
ACE Senators serve as independent agents who are invaluable and essential members of the Senate team. Senators plan, develop, implement, and execute the purposes, objectives, and organizational programs and services of ACE while communicating plans and outcomes to members.
ACE Ambassadors are appointed non-voting members of the Senate who do not hold an elected or appointed position. Ambassadors serve as voluntary support agents to the Senate and its officers, operating with the equivalent authority of the Association and helping to represent the classified employee voice.
ACE meetings are not just for Senators--anyone who is a member of ACE can attend! ACE meetings are for ACE Senators, Ambassadors, Officers, special guests, and members of ACE. These are working meetings for the ACE Senate that guests can observe while the Senate moves through its agenda. We ask that you respect the safe space of meetings and honor the code of confidentiality if you join. What happens and is said during ACE meetings stays in the meetings. If you're interested in joining us for an ACE Senate Meeting please email us at ACEMailbox@boisestate.edu and we can let you know when our next meeting will be.
Conveniently, most meetings have the option to attend remotely on a computer or phone via Zoom.
See you there!
