2021 Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Challenge
Presented by Micron + Boise State University
October 11 - 18, 2021

Hosted by Boise State University's
Venture College + Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity

Boise State University’s Venture College, a program in the College of Innovation and Design, and the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity are excited to offer the first Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Challenge, presented in partnership by Micron and Boise State University. This ‘reverse pitch’ competition is open to all higher education students across Idaho, and made possible by our industry partners: Micron, Idaho Central Credit Union, HERE.com, and PlexTrac.

What is a reverse pitch competition?

Participants will choose a problem statement provided by our industry partners, and form interdisciplinary teams to propose solutions to that problem. These teams will compete for $30,000 in cash prizes as they solve cybersecurity challenges critical to industry growth. At the same time, they will be building a viable venture for themselves and making helpful connections to mentors and industry leaders.

What to Expect

The Venture College will lead participants through a week-long sprint to develop, test, and validate their solution. Teams will be working with industry experts, business leaders, and mentors to help them craft their venture and pitch. Team finalists will have the opportunity to pitch during Boise Entrepreneur Week!
