About Ms. Paris
Born in Boise, I have traveled far and wide! I mostly grew up around Weiser, but graduated from Caldwell High. I then attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, during which time I spent my junior year in Paris, France. After graduation, the Peace Corps called to me, so I spent the next three years in The Gambia, West Africa, where I met my husband (John McDade, a volunteer from Scotland). After a brief stint in Idaho, we took off for Tokuyama, Japan to teach English for a couple years. On our return trip to the Idaho, we traveled through Asia, Europe and across the US, where we settled down and raised our two children (Kaira & Ian), both graduates of Borah High.
A few years ago we were blessed with the opportunity to own a wee bit of heaven in the Idaho mountains, which is where I spend the majority of my summer and any weekend I can manage.
After teaching in Japan, I earned a teaching endorsement from BSU and taught French at Hidden Springs Community School, then at Les Bois. Moved to Franklin Elementary in 2003 to teach English Language Development (ELD), I worked in elementary schools until 2020, when I joined the staff of Boise Online School to teach French again, and Social Studies. Since then, I've been teaching junior high and high school Art, Crafts, ELD, Teen Living, and Photography. This year I continue as part of the incredible, supportive Les Bois community! Every year is a new adventure.
