30% of student's total grade is Classwork.
Students will turn in their Weekly Warm Up every Friday.
Students will keep track of their assignments each unit. At the end of the unit, they will staple their assignments together with a cover sheet/checklist. They will turn in all of their assignments on the day of the unit test.
70% of student's total grade is Tests/ Projects.
Each unit will have a summative test.
Not every unit will have a project. Projects will be discussed in class at length. Students will turn these in separate from their unit assignments and their tests.
Retakes and Late Work
Students are welcome to retake any of their unit tests within 10 school days of the test, or before the next unit test. Students must fill out the "Test Retake Application Form" available in Google Classroom to inform the teacher which test they wish to retake and what they have done to prepare. Mrs. Kirby will email students to confirm that she has received the application and has made the retake available to the student.
Late Work is accepted for all classwork and projects until 2 weeks before the end of the semester as per district policy.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom is our main learning hub. All resources, assignments, and materials will be posted on Google Classroom.
If you are absent, Google Classroom should be the first place that you check! There are usually copies of any handouts given out in class posted that you can print/ access yourself OR you can pick up extra copies in the bin under the turn in bins in class.
If you ever notice something is missing, please just let Mrs. Kirby know.
Warm Ups
Warm Ups should be the first thing that students do when they get into class everyday.
Questions are always posted on the board/screen and are available in Google Classroom in the Daily Agenda Slides for each unit.
Warm Ups will be turned in and graded each week. The grade will reflect how many questions there were that week (ex. 5 school days = 5 points, 4 school days = 4 points).
Turning in classwork
Most assignments will be turned in during class in the appropriate class period bin located on the table in the back of the room.
Please make sure your NAME is always on your papers. No name papers will be kept in the hanging basket on the side of the room until the end of the quarter.
Unit Classwork will be turned in on the day of the test each unit (unless otherwise specified). This means that students are responsible for keeping all of their classwork organized until the end of the unit. After all unit classwork assignments are completed, we will staple them together with a cover sheet checklist and make sure everything is in order. (Remember that item #1 on the checklist is on the TOP, not the bottom!)
Late classwork is accepted until 2 weeks before the end of the quarter and can be turned into the class period bin at any time.
Borrowing Materials
Laptop chargers, coloring supplies, pencils/ pens, are available for students to borrow at anytime. Please make sure that they get put back where you found them.
Leaving the Room
Students must get teacher permission, sign out, and take a hall pass in order to leave the room.
Phones, Headphones, Smart Watches
The use of phones is prohibited from the start of school to the end of school at Les Bois. Phones are to stay in lockers during the school day. I will enforce this rule as well as including the inappropriate use of headphones or smart watches.
