Revision Policy / Reassessment
Mr. Edwards's revision policy for all students is as follows:
o Meet with Mr. Edwards for a 3-5 minute conference to discuss the significant ways in which your graded assessment can be improved (make sure you've already read my feedback [comments & rubric])
o Make the necessary improvements at home/on your own time, at your own pace
o Meet with Mr. Edwards for a second 3-5 minute conference to reveal the revised assessment's newly strengthened areas (points will be immediately added to the gradebook)
*You may revise any essay at any time before the last week of the semester
*Mr. Edwards is available for conferences before school, at lunch, and after school
Late work is dictated by district/school policy
Late work will not be penalized in the gradebook within a given unit. That means that it will be possible to turn in all assignments at any time for full credit, as long as they are turned in before the current unit's late work deadline (2 weeks before end of unit), then no work from that unit will be accepted. This is to allow students to produce their best work and therefore demonstrate their true level of proficiency on a given standard. However, when work is turned in past the due date, students will miss out on peer revision workshops, certain classroom activities, and the kind of feedback I would have provided had the assignment been on time.
If late work persists it will become a discipline issue involving appropriate consequences.
