My life has been full of ups and downs like most people. I completed a complete career change in 2018. Prior to that I was in the medical field for 3 years, and before that I spent nearly two decades working within the confines of a tube 30,000 feet above the ground. I loved my career as a flight attendant for a major airline but the world changed one day and so did I. It wasn't fear that changed me, it was growth and focus that altered my view of the world. It wasn't an immediate change either. I left the airlines in September 2008.Â
My college journey started a few years after I left my airline career. I wanted a career where I could make a difference in the world around me. As an Idaho native, the natural world is of critical importance to me. I pursued my biology degree with conservation at the top of my interests. After graduation I re-evaluated my priorities and decided that I could make more of a difference if I could help others see the value in our natural world. Teaching science to middle/high school students became my focus.
I started teaching in 2018 in Idaho City, moved to Boise Online School teaching 6 different science courses in 2021, and in 2025 made the move to be back in person with students at Les Bois. I love the students and staff here, and cannot imagine being anywhere but here.
In my down time you will find me riding (my horses or mountain bike), hiking, skiing, camping or fishing, or just walking in the foothills with my dogs. You also might find me making jewelry or trying to refurbish furniture, or re-purpose old furniture.
Life is an adventure and I don't want to miss a minute of it!
