Professional: I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University in 2011 and received my Masters of Science in School Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2017. I am also a licensed professional counselor.
Personal: I have been married to my wonderful spouse for over 17 years. My son, Ash, is now 5 years old and is in his second year of preschool this year! We welcomed Ember to the family this last December. I also have a silver lab, Juno, and a cat, Oliver.
Over the summer, I enjoyed crocheting, taking the kids to the local library and spending time with my family!
This is my ninth year as Hawthorne’s school counselor. My program entails bi-weekly classroom lessons on topics in the areas of: emotional regulation, school success, health and safety, conflict management and drug education.
Additionally, I am available to help students manage short term difficulties, but the nature of my job does not allow for regular “counseling” sessions with kids. I am happy to provide you with outside counseling resources, if you are interested. I will also offer small psychoeducational group counseling as needed to help support students throughout the school year. If you feel your child would benefit from such a group, please let me know.
I am excited to start another amazing year at Hawthorne Elementary! If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please call or email me.
