Professional: I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University in 2011 and received my Masters of Science in School Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2017. I am also a licensed professional counselor.
Personal: I have been married to my wonderful spouse for over 17 years. My son, Ash, is now almost 4 1/2 years old and is in his second year of preschool this year! My husband and I also have a second child on the way due on December 22nd of this year. I also have a silver lab, Juno, and a cat, Oliver. And yes, coffee is my best friend. : )
Over the summer, I enjoyed crocheting, reading, and gaming on the PC along with spending time with my family and going camping!
This is my ninth year as Hawthorne’s school counselor. My program entails bi-weekly classroom lessons on topics in the areas of: emotional regulation, school success, health and safety, conflict management and drug education.
Additionally, I am available to help students manage short term difficulties, but the nature of my job does not allow for regular “counseling” sessions with kids. I am happy to provide you with outside counseling resources, if you are interested. I will also offer small psychoeducational group counseling as needed to help support students throughout the school year. If you feel your child would benefit from such a group, please let me know.
I am excited to start another amazing year at Hawthorne Elementary! If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please call or email me.
