Friday's play will be round-robin, 2 of 3 fast 4’s (ad-scoring) & first to win 4 games (NO tie-breaker at 3-all), regular 7 point tie-breaker if split for 3rd set.
In case of ties in the round-robin play - the winner will be that person or team who has won the head-to-head match.
In case of a 3-way tie, the winner will be the player or team who has won the higher percentage of games. (new this year)
If a tie still exists, a regular 7 point tie-breaker will be played.
Coaching:
Only allowed between sets during the fast-fours. Not on changeovers.
Saturday, all play will be 2 out of 3 sets ad-scoring. If a split occurs, a 10 point tie-break will be used to determine the winner.
ALL Championship finals will be at Bishop Kelly.
Consolation Finals will be held at their orginal starting location.
RULES:
Time Limit:
A player must be ready to play within 10 minutes of first call.
10 minute warm-ups before the 1st match. 5 minutes for all other matches including serves.
5 minutes maximum break between split sets.
Coaching allowed by coaches during changeovers:
Fast-4 you can coach ONLY between sets on day 1. Not on changeovers.
Day 2 bracket matches - coaching after 3rd game each set
Players may have up to 10 minutes between matches for rest during Round Robin play.
Players may have 15 minutes between bracket matches.
Defaults: Player may be defaulted from a match for:
Not conforming to time limitations
Not cooperating with the coach in charge
Use of bad language
Throwing or excessively dropping a racquet
Any other unsportsmanlike conduct
🔶Coaching:
Coaching may occur on changeovers only.
1.5 minute maximum time allotment for coaching..
Parents are NOT allowed to coach - only district approved coaches.
Please communicate/emphasize this with your parents as it is a breach of our rules.
Site Directors will be busy and should not have to police this all day long.
ANY coaches who see parents coaching anyone please ask them to cease doing so to allow for a fair playing field and to adhere to the rules for coaching.
🔶Line Judges:
If needed, any coach on site needs to be ready to step in regardless.
Site Directors CANNOT do this while running a site.
Please be ready to help out at any point if you’re roaming at a site.
Non-biased coach will be needed for that match requesting a line judge.
