CDVE is an auditioned mixed ensemble at Borah High School. Typically populated with upperclassmen, CDVE operates like a collegiate ensemble - this means extra sectionals, work outside of rehearsal, and higher expectations for professionalism, attitude, and work ethic. The goals of CDVE are to develop teamwork and leadership skills, prepare students for participation in elite ensembles after Borah, and learn to use music as a cultural and communicative tool. Think of it like AP Choir - this isn't just for "the best singers", but for the students who want to work a little harder and go a little deeper into the meat and potatoes of music.
Every member of CDVE is expected to complete an All-State Audition. This does not mean you are required to submit your audition, but you each must go through the process. The All-State audition process is a valuable experience to focus on your individual skills as a musician, and students who participate in All-State gain valuable skills and knowledge they can bring back to our choirs here at Borah.
Auditions are to be completed by October 7, 2023. The 2023 All-State Choir will take place February 1-4, 2023 at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho.
