Borah Volleyball Tryouts!

Due to Coach Bilger being called for jury duty…..tryouts will be held at obscure times!

Monday, August 12th - 1st tryout will be from 6:00 am - 7:30 am

Monday, August 12th - 2nd tryout will be from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Tuesday, August 13th - 3rd tryout session will be from 6:00 am - 7:30 am

***Players are expected to attend all 3 tryout sessions***

During tryouts, there are no set expectations or cut-times when it comes to certain exercises, lifts, or running times. What I DO have an expectation of is that each player has conditioned themselves and are in shape in order to play 5 sets at their top game.

All freshman are welcome to try out at Borah. You will join us on Monday for both sessions. Tuesday, you will be invited to join us. If you do not make it to Tuesday, then you will only need to go to your junior high tryouts! Freshman who make it to Tuesday have an opportunity to make a Borah team.

10 Things Lady Lion Volleyball Players Don’t Do:

  1. Criticize any team member - especially your setter.
  2. Bring your cell phone and use it during practice.
  3. Form cliques.
  4. Quit on a ball!
  5. Talk when the coach is talking.
  6. Do anything halfway...100% effort at all times!
  7. Carry a mistake with you into the next play.
  8. Be resistant to stepping into another position.
  9. Give a negative vibe.
  10. Talk derogatorily about teammates on the court or off.
  1. Physical Exams MUST be completed before the first day of practice/tryouts!!
    1. Physicals for Freshman/Juniors must be dated AFTER May 1, 2019.
    2. Physicals for Soph/Seniors must be dated AFTER May 1, 2018.
    3. They must be completed and signed by a physician!!
  2. Online Paperwork should be completed before the first day of practice/tryouts!!
    1. Start getting this done now! We coaches and trainers want to see you actually able to paricipate rather than sitting on the sidelines! We do not want to be a program that takes up our trainers time working and checking the databases for completed work. We want to be a program that allows him to train and take care of our student athletes!
    2. This is one piece of required completion of the part of athlete's and parents- returning athletes should be familiar with this.
    3. Directions for completion can be found on the Borah Website ( https://sites.google.com/boiseschools.org/borah-sports-medicine/athletic-forms ) Also find them attached if you want to print some out.
    4. Please make this a priority and get it done quickly!
