MUSEUM DIRECTOR, MOCK TRIAL COACH

ECONOMICS  - Class overview:

My goal is to assist students to embrace the concepts  essential for understanding the U.S. Economy; such as:

Economic Thinking, Micro/Macroeconomics, the Global Economy, and Personal Finance.  I want my students to understand their power in the economy and to thrive financially as they enter into "Grown-up" land.

I am a big believer in Hands-on learning and as such, will have many exciting projects the students will participate in.

Economics - Teaching Approach

To assist the beginning economics student in grasping the principles essential for understanding Economic Reasoning, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, the Global Economy, and Personal Finance.  To promote a lasting student interest in economics.

This course examines the theories, structures, and operations of economics with new focus on the global economy and building wealth through personal finance. Suggested learning experiences integrate Idaho Core Standards and emphasize student centered learning activities.

About me:

I have been a teacher for 27 years total and Boise High for 23 yrs. Each year has been an adventure and I can easily say I have absolutely enjoyed every one! Teaching is my second career (I was an Archaeologist on the Payette National Forest) and by far my favorite. I am also the parent of a Boise High graduate and current student.

I have had the pleasure to teach many subjects over the course of my career. I started out teaching German & English 10 at Eagle High School.

After adopting my first daughter, I wanted to teach in my own neighborhood, at the stellar school of Boise High School. I have been here now for 23 years. Wow, time flies when you are having fun! I still feel so lucky to teach here every day. #BeBRAVE!

Over my years at Boise High, I have taught multiple classes here; such as English 10, 11, 12, ELL English, Economics, Sociology, History 9 & 11 and Community Leadership. I look forward to more exciting days of teaching and inspiring your students. I believe learning should be fun and inspiring, besides just academic knowledge! I am also proud to say that I am the Director of the new Boise High Museum

I graduated from Utah State University with multiple degrees.
