Concurrent/Dual Credit Courses
Certain courses at Boise High are approved for both high school and college credit to be earned simultaneously through Idaho institutions such as Boise State University, Northwest Nazarene University and University of Idaho. Students can use their Fast Forward/Advanced Opportunity funds to pay for the college credits. There are pros and cons to earning college credit while in high school - it is certainly nice for financial reasons, and also beneficial for students to have exposure to college level curriculum prior to stepping foot on a college campus. However, if a student does not do well academically in the course, it will be reflected on their college transcript which will be seen by any college they are applying to. It is important to take into consideration the interest level the student has in the subject area, as well as other competing factors a student may have, (i.e. athletics schedule or other rigorous courses) prior to taking on a concurrent credit course.
Listed below are the concurrent classes that Boise High is currently offering. Please be aware that the concurrent credit offerings may change. Check with your counselor or your teacher in the fall to see if credit is still available:
