Sparx personalises each child’s homework, creating a weekly set of questions tailored to their level of understanding and learning pace. The questions are designed to be achievable whilst offering the stretch that learners need to make progress. Homework will be set weekly for students.

After completing an assessment, each student fills in an analysis sheet for each of the questions (red, amber, green). The students can then clearly see which topics they are struggling with and which topics they are confident on in the test. They can then use Hegarty clips on the analysis sheet to go through each of the topics/questions they struggled with in the assessment. The Hegarty DIRT consists of video examples, quiz questions and answers. Therefore, the DIRT work is very independent and something they can do to improve their understanding for a topic. It can be done throughout the whole year not just when it is set for homework, as it will help improve progress.
