BET10: Equity and Excellence
Bohunt Education Trust Marks 10 Years with Inspiring INSET Day
On 24 June, Bohunt Education Trust (BET) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a Trust-wide INSET day centred on Equity and Excellence. Nearly 1,400 staff from all ten BET schools came together for a day of learning, collaboration, and celebration.
The event kicked off with keynotes from education expert Professor Robert Coe, social mobility advocate Lee Elliot-Major OBE, and Paralympian and Bohunt alumna Olivia Breen — each delivering powerful messages on inclusion, aspiration and the future of education.
A festival-style lunch brought the community together with live student performances, food vans, and sunshine, while the afternoon offered dynamic workshops, breakout sessions and cross-school collaboration.
“It was amazing to come back to Bohunt... It’s brilliant to see that same energy and belief still going strong.” – Olivia Breen
“We’ve built an unshakable foundation to impact young lives for generations.” – Neil Strowger, Trust Leader
“A powerful reflection of what’s possible when passionate people work together.” – Ray Morton, Chair of Trustees
The day also welcomed exhibitors including Jamie’s Farm, Green Power, Lodge Hill, and Academia, highlighting enriching opportunities for staff and students alike.
BET’s 10-year celebrations continue across schools with tree planting, sponsored walks, time capsules, and more — honouring a decade of shared values and looking ahead to an ambitious future.

BET 10 Tree Planting Day
On 16 January 75 students from Years 7 to 10 at The Petersfield School got to work planting 400 trees as part of the BET's 10 year anniversary, helping to sustain our environment now and in the future.
With trowels in hand, and under Miss Markey's knowledgeable instruction, a wide variety of trees were carefully planted into the soil including field maple, rowan, silver birch, wild cherry and common oak. Our fabulous outdoor classroom provided cover and facilitated the toasting of marshmallows, a reward for all the students' hard work.
With watering and mulching to suppress the weeds, the saplings have a 60 - 80% survival rate. Their fate now lies in the hands of Mother Nature but #teamTPS is committed to doing all we can to support their chances and hopefully watch the trees grow alongside their students!
December 2024
On December 3rd, students from The Petersfield School and Priory School came together for an incredible Music Showcase, celebrating 10 years of BET.
Through workshops and collaboration, students worked in small groups to create unique versions of songs, with guidance from music industry professional Steve Pitt. Using Project ERA initiatives, they stayed connected, shared practice diaries, and honed their craft.
The evening featured stunning performances, from small group renditions to powerful BET Ensemble numbers, embodying BET's core values: enjoy respect achieve.
