A knowledge Organiser summarises the key ideas in a unit for you.
It does not have all the information in it, just the key ideas and themes to get you through the course.
Detailed explanations can be found in your notes and textbook
The most important thing to remember about these knowledge organisers is that the more you use them, the more useful they will be.
You might like to use them to:
Help with homework. If you need to check information from the lesson, this is a good resource
To catch up on work. If you miss a lesson, this is a good starting place to use while working through lesson resources
As part of your revision. To work on the content, in addition to exam and application practice
After revising from them, by either making flash cards, quizzes or mindmaps, knowledge organisers are most useful when you put them away. Rather than just reading through the information, you need to see what you can recall.
You could try to fill in the blank knowledge sheet in one colour, then add any information you missed in another. Alternatively, use the questions on the third page to test yourself, or ask someone to test you, on the corresponding box.
Remember to combine this type of knowledge revision with exam practice, application and deeper styles of thinking.
