My name is Mrs. Tomlinson and I am a teacher here at Bogota Middle School. This is my fourteenth year teaching in the Bogota School District, and my third year teaching seventh-grade English Language Arts. I was honored to receive the 2023-2024 Bogota Middle School Teacher of the Year recognition! I love teaching very rigorous, yet meaningful content to my English students

As you may already know, I love teaching and learning so much that I don’t stop doing either once the school day is over. For over ten years I worked as a dance instructor, teaching dance classes in a variety of genres: tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop – just to name a few. I used to choreograph dances for a traveling competition team in New York.

I eventually decided to hang up my dancing shoes so that I could go back to school to pursue a Master's degree. In August of 2020, I finally completed my Master's program. I have my Master of Education in Literacy from William Paterson University, and I am a certified reading specialist.

Teaching and learning is not my whole life though! I enjoy watching some pretty terrible reality television shows, lifting some heavy weights, and, of course, spending time with my family, friends, and fellow teachers.

Along with my mother and father, I grew up with two older sisters and a younger brother in my immediate family. My high school sweetheart and I just recently celebrated our six-year wedding anniversary on August 9th. We have one daughter, and another on the way!

There are also some other fun facts you may not know about me. My favorite color is green, favorite season is summer, and favorite place is the beach (even though I burn very easily in the sun!). The most interesting country I’ve traveled to is Australia and one of my all-time favorite vacation spots is Aruba. I really love almost any and all kinds of cheese, especially mozzarella melted on top of a huge pile of French fries. I can go on and on about myself, but I don’t want to bore you with all the details.
