Class overview
Welcome to a new school year at Brookhaven Elementary! Classes will be participating in many exciting and educational activities in the Media Center. All classes will have library on a weekly basis. Kindergarten and First graders will be able to check out 1 book each week. Second and Third graders will be able to check out 2 books each week. Fourth and Fifth graders will be able to check out up to 3 books at a time.
All students will be permitted to select their own reading material. We are very fortunate to have a library full of books on a variety of reading levels and in a variety of genres. If at any time your child brings home a book that you do not approve of, PLEASE send it back immediately and I will allow them to select a new book. Please help us maintain our book collection by instilling in your students that checking out library books is a great responsibility.
Remind your student to:
Use clean hands when enjoying a library book
Keep books in a safe place, away from small children, pets, and liquids
Use a bookmark; never bend, cut, glue, or write on or in books
Return borrowed books on time
