IMPORTANT:
Once you have registered, it is the family's responsibility to make contact with the school regarding specifics for the testing window (for example arrival time).
If you register your child and changes are made to the testing window, you will be notified.

Only registrations received through this date will be approved for participation during the administration of the Spring 2026 assessment.
The 2026 testing windows for the 3-8 WVGSA in Monongalia County are scheduled as follows:
Per state testing requirements, students must test in person at the school in their home attendance area
Testing will take place on a computer over multiple days.
It is the responsibility of the parent to contact the school in their child’s home attendance area to identify what time their child needs to be at the school for testing each day.
To receive a score, students must complete the entire assessment.
ELA - requires up to 2 days (1 day - Writing, 1 day - Reading)
Math - requires 1 day
Science (grades 5 & 8 only) - requires 1 day
To register your child to take the WVGSA (grades 3-8) please complete the following registration information by January 30, 2026.
WVGSA (grades 3-8)
Student results on the WVGSA will be released in August 2025.
NOTE: Monongalia County Schools will receive a copy of the results for Home Instructed Students. There is no need for the family to share this information separately with the homeschool office.
If your student requires testing accommodations, requests must be submitted to College Board by the county office. Please make contact with the high school in your attendance area as soon as possible so that you may increase the likelihood that College Board will approve your request.
The assessment will take place at the student's home high school and will last roughly 4 hours.
Participating students may have the opportunity to use their results for college entrance determination.
NOTE: there is no State Assessment for Students in Grades 9, 10, or 12
To register your child to take the 11th grade SAT School Day, please complete the following registration information by January 30, 2026
SAT School DAY
Students who take the SAT School Day will have access to their Scores through their College Board Accounts several weeks after taking the test.
NOTE: Monongalia County Schools will receive a copy of the results for Home-Instructed Students. There is no need for the family to share this information separately with the homeschool office.
