MHS Writing Studio- Tutor Application 2023-2024
The MHS Writing Studio seeks enthusiastic students as writing tutors. Tutors will learn strategies for successful peer review sessions on a wide range of writing, conduct tutoring sessions, and improve their own writing skills as they contribute to The Red and Blue Review, our school’s literary magazine.

Training
No prior experience is necessary! Tutors will learn and practice a curriculum throughout the year, including lessons from both MHS English teachers and the WVU Writing Lab.
Who Can Apply
To be considered for the MHS Writing Studio you must:
Have completed at least English 9 with a grade of A or B. (current freshmen may apply!)
Receive a recommendation from your current English teacher.
Have a deep interest in improving your own writing skills and in helping others improve.
Demonstrate strong communication skills.
Be willing to take a leadership role in various MHS Writing Studio projects including tutoring, writing contests, editing the literary journal, and more.
How, When, and Where to Apply
Paper applications are due to Mrs. Leone in room 107 by January 31. If you apply online via the Google Form below, it is also due then. You must fill out ALL information on Google Form, including the name of an English teacher who has seen evidence of your writing and interpersonal communication skills, and could recommend you for Writing Studio. They will be contacted later, and do NOT have to write you a letter of recommendation.
