About North Elementary

North Elementary is a PreK through fifth-grade elementary school located in downtown Morgantown, West Virginia. Our school is known for its cultural diversity, with our student population and their families representing over 30 different languages.

Our school is well known for the gardens located on our grounds, and our team has worked previously to publish garden curriculum through the Farm to School initiative. Educators at our school work together annually on garden-based learning projects that incorporate STEM and student collaboration. Our school's efforts for sustainability led to us being recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Green Ribbon School in 2015.

North Elementary is part of the Remake Learning Network and has been the recipient of several grants that have allowed us to continue our efforts to push the boundaries of learning, including the construction of both our indoor and outdoor Makerspaces.
