A day at MTEC is filled with hands-on, project-based learning tailored to your program. Each day includes four periods, each focused on building a different skill. Classes vary by subject, but if you’re eager to learn, you’ll leave MTEC with real-world experience in your chosen field.
We follow a block schedule, so you’ll stay with the same teacher all day. MTEC provides breakfast and lunch, and the school day runs from 7:45 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. All MTEC programs are two years. Juniors attend on odd days, and seniors on even days.
You start your day at your home high school, then take the designated bus to MTEC. You may also be dropped off or drive yourself—parking is unassigned. At 2:10 p.m., buses will return students to their home schools in time to catch their regular routes.
Yes, even while attending MTEC, you can still participate in clubs and other after-school activities. After MTEC, you’ll be dropped off at your home high school and can go about your usual routine from there.
MTEC considers GPA when reviewing applications. Please contact your counselor for more information.
Refer to the important dates on the Important Information tab. You will have a personal interview with your chosen teacher and will receive an acceptance or denial letter according to the timeline. Once you receive your letter, return to this website to accept or decline your spot. Check back regularly for updates.
The application asks for your top three interests, which are considered as spots fill. If you don’t get your first choice, you will be considered for your second or third choice. You can also contact Mrs. Fawley or your school counselor to be placed in an applicant pool for future openings in your desired program.

It depends on the size of the program, but each program accepts at least twelve students.
Yes, we accept 10th graders on a very limited basis, depending on available spots.
IMPORTANT: Students can only be officially accepted into Health Occupations programs for their 11th and 12th grade years.
Apply and interview for both! If you’re accepted, you’ll have the opportunity to choose the program that best fits your needs, interests, and post-secondary plans.
