Conducted entirely in Spanish, this course emphasizes effective communication and in-depth cultural exploration of the Spanish-speaking world. Students develop fluency and confidence while examining literature and cultural themes such as national and ethnic identities, migration, access to health and quality of life, technology and society, and historical and contemporary connections between the United States and Spanish-speaking communities. Students analyze cultural perspectives and practices to develop intercultural competence and appreciation for diversity. This honors-level Spanish-for-Specific-Purposes course prepares students to function effectively in professional and academic environments requiring advanced Spanish proficiency. Using a task-based approach, students explore fields such as STEM, Communications and Journalism, Business, Health and Medicine, Criminal Justice, and Law. The curriculum emphasizes intercultural communication, critical thinking, professional writing, and real-world language application, with particular attention to U.S. Latinx and Latin American contexts. The ACTFL Proficiency for this course is Advanced Low-Advanced Mid.Prerequisites:

This course is designed for students pursuing advanced study in Spanish literature. Emphasis is placed on critical reading, literary analysis, and analytical writing in Spanish. Students study major works, movements, and periods representative of Spain and Spanish America while developing theoretical vocabulary and interpretive skills. All instruction is conducted in Spanish. The ACTFL Proficiency for this course is Advanced Mid-Advanced High.Special Notes:
