Yes, as part of the course selection process each student must meet with her school counselor to review academic performance, future interests and career goals. As part of this meeting the school counselor will submit the courses selected for next year.
Your school counselor will schedule a meeting with you sometime between February 2 and March 20th. Please check your email daily to ensure you receive the appointment information in a timely manner. These appointments are required and you are expected to attend on the day and time it is scheduled.
There are several thing you can do to prepare for this meeting.
Review your graduation requirements and update your Bobcat Planner
Read the course catalog and note prerequisites for courses you are interested in taking
Identify areas of interest and college aspirations
Review available electives of interest to you
Have a tentative list of courses you are interested in taking
Investigate college admissions expectations
If interested in Music program, audition.
If interested in Summer School, register for a class.
Talk to your parents about expectations and how your list of courses fits with the demands of extracurriculars, sports, arts, clubs, etc.
