The content of this semester course rests upon the foundation of the Catholic/Christian Morality course. This course will explore the wealth of writings and teachings from our Catholic heritage, as well as other relevant information on the topic of living justly and the Church’s call to witness to the challenging message of Jesus Christ. Areas of concern will include prejudice and racism, poverty and the economy, work and the environment, nonviolence and peace, and the basic virtues of justice. Through their studies, students will come to realize the prophetic and often disturbing role the Catholic Church has played in denouncing social sin. They will also come to a deeper appreciation of the Catholic Church’s call to its members to actively speak out and stand in opposition to all social sin.Special Notes:

This course will acquaint students with the challenges, demands, and often doubts that one must embrace when making the choice to believe in God. It will examine both what assists and what may block one’s journey toward belief in God. The course will discuss the essential beliefs, practices and characteristics of the Catholic faith, as well as the contributions of the Catholic faith to the greater community. To leave students with an informed and intelligent Catholic faith that will support them in the years to come, this course will also unpack why the Catholic faith is both a viable and sound choice for one who desires to live an authentic life. Students will explore what it means to respond to God’s call of discipleship through their particular vocation, helping them to see the call to genuine leadership and evangelization as an essential element of the Catholic faith.Special Notes:
