The course provides a topical and thematic approach to the development of the world’s major civilizations and historical interactions between cultures, nations and empires. It focuses on the origins and contributions of the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe as well as how successive societies have been affected by those contributions. The ultimate objective of this course is to equip students with the ability to evaluate continuing social, political, religious, intellectual, technological, economic and cultural movements spanning the early Middle Ages to the present. This course is designed to reflect FCCSS guidelines and satisfy graduation requirements for the State of Florida.Prerequisites:

The course covers connections between ancient, medieval and modern Afro-Eurasian cultures and the development of societies outside of Afro-Eurasia, via analysis of historical documents and other resources. The goal is to obtain a comprehensive understanding of major historical events while evaluating the social, political, religious, intellectual, technological, economic and cultural movements spanning from ancient times to present day.Prerequisites:

The course, which covers global events from the 13th century to the present, focuses on major geographic regions, their cultural and economic interactions and conflicts, empire building, political and technological revolutions. The goal is to evaluate social, political, religious, intellectual, technological, economic and cultural movements that define modern world history. In addition, students will develop a solid grasp of content using historical documents, critical thinking and advanced reasoning processes.Special Notes:
Students in this course are required to take the Advanced Placement Exam; AP Exam fees will be processed through FACTS account.
