This basic one-year course deals with life from the molecular level to the highest level of complexity. Lecture is complemented by laboratory investigations. Major divisions include: interaction of life, evolution, development of new life, genetics and utilization, regulation and coordination by life processes and discussions on disease process including HIV and Hepatitis B. College Preparatory Algebra II taken concurrently is highly recommended.Prerequisites:

This one-year honors-level course explores the same foundational topics as the College Preparatory Biology course but with greater depth, complexity, and pace. Designed for students with a strong interest in science, the course emphasizes advanced concepts, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Concurrent enrollment in Geometry Advanced or higher level math course is strongly recommended to support the mathematical demands of advanced biology topics, such as genetic calculations and data analysis.Special Notes:
Students enrolled in this course are required to complete the Toshiba ExploraVision project.
