This elective course will introduce the student to the production of a news program. Students will create packages for OLLA TV, the Our Lady of Lourdes Academy network, in class and broadcast them on OLLA TV. Students will become proficient in news, sports, entertainment, feature writing and editing. Students will learn interview skills and practice the art of live-reporting. Students will also learn the inner workings of a professional studio setting, including the use of camera, teleprompters and audio equipment. Students will begin to work with Adobe Premiere to edit packages. Students will be introduced to social media reporting and create content for Bobcat Beat.Special Notes:

Successful completion of Broadcast Journalism ICourse Description:
This honors course will further enhance the knowledge and news-reporting skills students learned from Broadcast Journalism I. Students will continue to practice and explore their reporting skills. Students will continue to hone their skills with Adobe Premiere to edit packages. Students will research, write, edit, produce and broadcast their stories on OLLA TV. Students will also learn to meet deadlines, and produce in-depth segments. By the end of this semester course, students will be required to compile a demo reel, which will be edited to include all the stories they produced throughout the semester. Students will be produce and create content for the media Instagram @ollanews and the Bobcat Beat.Special Notes:

Successful completion of Broadcast Journalism II HonorsCourse Description:
This honors course will further enhance the knowledge and news-reporting skills students learned from Broadcast Journalism II. This production class will require students to cover events, find stories and produce packages for the OLLA TV broadcast. Students will continue to use Adobe Premiere to edit packages. This class is run just like an actual television newsroom with each student given an assigned role. The final assessment for this class requires students to create a commercial to air on OLLA TV. Students will be produce and create content for the media Instagram @ollanews and the Bobcat Beat.Special Notes:

Successful completion of Broadcast Journalism III HonorsCourse Description:
This honors course will further enhance the knowledge and news-reporting skills students learned from Broadcast Journalism III. This is an advanced production class where students will prepare and run the live OLLA TV broadcast. Students will refine their news gathering skills, news writing, editing and on camera performance for OLLA TV. Students will be produce and create content for the media instagram @ollanews and the Bobcat Beat.Special Notes:

This honors course will enable students to perform advanced work in the production of journalism across broadcast platforms and to develop extended knowledge of journalism history, ethics, use and management techniques related to the production of journalistic media. School and professional publication efforts are expected. Students will be produce and create content for the media Instagram @ollanews and the Bobcat Beat.Special Notes:
