Successful completion of Algebra II College Prep orless than 83 in Algebra II HonorsCourse Description:
This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college mathematics. Topics covered will include: Functions - piecewise, exponential, logistic logarithmic and rational - analytic geometry, systems of nonlinear equations, matrix algebra, systems of linear equations, determinants and real-world applications (STEM).Special Notes:
All students are required to have a TI-Nspire CX handheld graphing calculator (TI-Nspire CAS model is not permitted).Prerequisites:
83 or higher in Algebra II Honors orless than 83 in Algebra II AdvancedCourse Description:
This Honors course is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and vocabulary needed to prepare for Calculus Honors. Topics covered will include: polynomials, rational, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions and their applications, analytic trigonometry, analytic geometry and an introduction to calculus. Real world applications (STEM) will be incorporated into this course.Special Notes:
All students are required to have a TI-Nspire CX handheld graphing calculator (TI-Nspire CAS model is not permitted). This course is eligible for Dual Enrollment credit through St. Thomas University provided students meet the dual enrollment eligibility requirements.Prerequisites:
87 or higher in Algebra II AdvancedCourse Description:
This rigorous, accelerated course is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and vocabulary needed to prepare for AP Calculus. Topics covered will include: polynomials, rational, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions and their applications, analytic trigonometry, analytic geometry, vectors, polar coordinates and an introduction to calculus. Real world applications (STEM) will be incorporated into this course.Special Notes:
All students are required to have a TI-Nspire CX handheld graphing calculator (TI-Nspire CAS model is not permitted). Students in this course are required to take the Advanced Placement Exam; AP Exam fees will be processed through FACTS account.
