Prerequisites:
Successful completion or concurrently enrolled in Anatomy & PhysiologyCourse Description:
The purpose of this course is to help students acquire the knowledge and skills related to the management of medical and athletic injuries. They will learn fundamental concepts of the human body including but not limited to: injuries of the lower extremity, heat and cold-related illnesses, therapeutic modalities, general medical conditions, and prevention of athletic injuries. The course is a mixture of lecture and lab work. Students will practice first aid procedures specific to various sports injuries and earn CPR/AED certification.Special Notes:
Students are required to attend and pay a fee for a CPR/AED/First Aid certification.Prerequisites:
Successful completion of Sports Medicine I with teacher recommendationCourse Description:
The purpose of this course is to expand the skills that were introduced in Sports Medicine & Athletic Injuries 1. The student will develop a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts of the human body, including but not limited to: upper extremity injuries, injuries to the head and face, rehabilitation for upper extremity injuries, sport psychology, and female issues in sport. This course is a mixture of lecture and lab work.Prerequisites:
Successful completion of Sports Medicine II with teacher recommendationCourse Description:
The purpose of this course is to expand the skills that were introduced in Sports Medicine & Athletic Injuries II. The student will develop a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts of the human body through clinical hours completed in a high school athletic training program. Students will meet daily to practice skills and develop schedule for clinical hours.Special Notes:
This course is an after school internship style course. Minimum 75 hours of hands-on/experience required.Prerequisites:

The purpose of this course is to expand the skills that were introduced in Sports Medicine & Athletic Injuries III. The student will develop a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts of the human body through clinical hours completed in a high school athletic training program and physical therapy clinic. Students will meet daily to practice skills and develop schedule for clinical hours.Special Notes:
This course is an after school internship style course. Minimum 75 hours of hands-on/experience required.
