This law course is designed to familiarize the student with the laws that affect their daily lives. The course will cover the following topics: a basic introduction to the law and the system of government in the United States, the difference between crimes and torts, laws for minors, families, and consumers, property laws, contracts, buying and selling, credit laws, and laws affecting the three types of business ownership: sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations.Special Notes:
This class counts toward the Business Honor Society. This course is eligible for Dual Enrollment credit through St. Thomas University provided students meet the dual enrollment eligibility requirements.
