This course is designed for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in business and or accounting. This course will involve the student in learning various concepts in the accounting discipline including the understanding of the entire accounting cycle for a sole proprietorship to journalizing business transactions and their effect in the operations of a business. Through accounting, businesses collect, document and report financial transactions that provide information on the financial status of a business. To be successful in the competitive business environment, today’s students must also develop an understanding of accounting through the use of computer accounting software that will enable them to practice the various accounting concepts and apply their knowledge and understanding. Students in this course will use Automated Accounting to further strengthen their accounting skills.Special Notes:
This class counts toward the Business Honor Society. Students interested in this course should sign up for both Accounting I and II in the same school year.Prerequisites:

This course completes a one-year study of accounting. With the use of accounting software, students will be introduced to the real-world of accounting in today’s business environment. Topics will include but will not be limited to: the accounting cycle for a merchandising business organized as a partnership. Students will have access to the following features: general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation, payroll systems, and financial statement analysis.Special Notes:
